Massive update today! First level remade, started implementing blood effects, level requirements and more!
First level:
- Completely remade first level, should be more interesting now. I’m still working on adding objectives for this level!
- I changed the scatter plugin so the trees should loads instantly. Let me know if you’re still seeing bad performance here.
Level 2 and 3:
- Level 2 and 3 now require you to kill all zombies in order to advance. If you got to the cardboard box in level 2, it will display a pop up telling you how many zombies are left. Same for Level 3 if you go to the door at the end of the sewer.
Zombies:
I had some prints that were creating thousands upon thousands of lines in debug and being a noob I didn’t quite realise how much this effects performance, at least in editor. I’m seeing better performance when the game is exported but please let me know if there’s still issues.
Blood effects/feedback
- I’ve added blood effects when a zombie attacks you. It’s still janky and doesn’t look great but it’s in there for testing. Let me know what you think!
Next update:
- Zombie sound effects
- Player sound effects (when hit)
- Level objectives for level 1
